A familiar connection, a new test
Noah Dollenmayer’s next international assignment brings a familiar club connection into a competitive Nations League encounter. The Dominican Republic hosts Haiti on October 1 at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
El Paso Locomotive named Dollenmayer and Haiti midfielder Carl Sainté among its September international call-ups, creating the possibility of club teammates appearing on opposite sides. Selection for the match itself remains subject to each national team’s lineup.
What is at stake
Both countries arrive with consecutive victories. The Dominican Republic followed its opening win over Nicaragua by coming from behind to beat Trinidad and Tobago 2–1. Heinz Mörschel equalized before halftime, and Mariano Díaz supplied the decisive second-half goal. Haiti, meanwhile, defeated Costa Rica 2–0 in its most recent outing.
The wider stakes extend beyond this individual matchup. Only the top two finishers in each League A group advance to November’s quarterfinals, where the four pre-seeded nations enter the competition.
For Dollenmayer, the fixture offers another opportunity within an international window that also interrupts El Paso’s domestic run-in. Locomotive’s September announcement said its international players were expected back before the October 10 home match against Orange County SC.
