Mixer Score is a 0–100 roster need signal, not a recruitment probability or a rating of you. Public coach posts are kept in their own view; a high score is not a confirmed opening.
Projected need for midfielders entering in 2027. Projected from each program’s published roster: who is listed at each position and which class year they are in.

The score combines two signals: the share of listed players in the graduating cohort, and the shortfall versus typical Division I depth after removing that cohort. It is 70% of the larger signal plus 30% of the smaller, on a 0–100 scale. It is not trained or calibrated against actual recruiting outcomes. Source completeness is shown separately.
The roster is the fall 2026 season. Players listed as seniors, graduates or fifth-years are projected to finish after it, so they are matched with the class of 2027. Today’s juniors are matched with 2028 and today’s sophomores with 2029. A redshirt label keeps the year the roster shows. Each class is looked at on its own, as if the classes before it had replaced the players who left, so the further out a class is, the less a roster can tell you. Where half or more of the players at a position show no class year, there is no projection for that position.
“Likely need” means at least half of the players listed at a position are projected to leave, or the players projected to return number half or fewer of what a typical Division I roster lists there. Typical means the median across all Division I rosters: men list 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 10 midfielders, 6.5 forwards; women list 3 goalkeepers, 8.5 defenders, 8.5 midfielders, 7.5 forwards. “Possible need” is a milder version of the same two tests. A player listed at two positions counts as half in each.
Roster data is “good” when at least 90% of listed players show both a class year and a position and the roster has 18 or more players, “fair” from 70%, and “limited” below that. Programs with limited data are always listed last. Divisions below NCAA Division I have no imported rosters yet, so they get no projection.
A roster cannot show transfers in or out, redshirts and extra eligibility, players already committed in an incoming class, walk-ons or position changes. Only the coaching staff knows what the program is looking for. Needs posted by verified coaches →
